Marstek balcony batteries listen to a power meter on your home's grid connection to decide when to charge or discharge. AstraMeter pretends to be that meter. It reads your real grid power from a source you already have (a Shelly, Home Assistant, an MQTT topic, a smart-meter reader, …) and reports it to the battery in the exact format it expects.
